Description
A 2022 European release in the Whistler line from Boann in Drogheda, Co. Meath, this 10 Years Old single malt is sourced Irish stock in the label's bonder tradition, raised in Bourbon barrels and given a finishing spell in fresh French oak. The Cooney family bottled it at 46%, the label's standard strength, keeping the wood's bite intact.
Bourbon maturation set down honey, vanilla and soft citrus, and the French oak finish adds a tannic snap, dried fruit and clove tightening the frame. Lemon zest brightens the top, malt and honey fill the middle, and the finish is crisp and spicy for an Irish malt of this age, toasted oak with a last flicker of orchard fruit.
