This is the 2022 release of The Irishman Cask Strength, Walsh Whiskey's single malt bottled at full strength rather than reduced to the standard house pour. Made at the company's Co. Carlow base, it is a limited run of 4900 bottles matured in American oak ex bourbon barrels.
Ex bourbon oak sets a bright, malt forward tone of vanilla, citrus and fresh wood, the cereal spirit showing clearly without water to round it off. At 54.9% and undiluted, it carries more weight and grip than the standard single malt, a clean, bourbon matured Irish whiskey released once a year at cask strength.
