Teeling Single Pot Still revived Dublin distilled pot still whiskey, the style the city's giant Victorian distilleries once made famous, using a mash of malted and unmalted barley run three times through the Newmarket stills in the Liberties. This bottling from 2021 was released for the Netherlands at the core strength of 46%.
Maturation here rests on ex-bourbon casks in the house style, keeping vanilla and barley sugar forward while the unmalted barley supplies the signature peppery, gingery prickle, green apple and a creamy, faintly oily texture. Without chill filtration the weight stays intact, and the finish runs to clove and soft citrus, a young Dublin pot still whiskey wearing its style plainly.
