Bottled in 2018, cask 35 is an early single cask of Teeling's own single pot still spirit, finished in a Muscat cask and limited to 250 bottles for the Netherlands. The Newmarket distillery had only been running since 2015, the first new distillery in Dublin for 125 years, which makes releases like this a first look at Dublin distilled pot still whiskey finding its feet again.
Ex-bourbon maturation laid down vanilla before the Muscat cask added its grapey perfume, floral sweetness and candied citrus over the young spirit's green apple and peppery spice. Bottled at 46%, it is light, aromatic and unmistakably youthful, valued now as a marker of where the Teeling pot still project began, before the stock had years to deepen.
