Description
The Crystal Collection is a Teeling edition bottled for the Irish market, released in 2023 in a run of 18,000 bottles. It is a single malt from the Newmarket distillery in Dublin, the site that returned distilling to the city in 2015, matured in virgin American oak rather than the usual second hand bourbon barrels.
Fresh oak is generous wood, and here it gives toasted coconut, new sawn timber and vanilla over the malt's own character of malt extract, milk chocolate, fresh orchard fruit and cut hay, with honey running through the middle. Bottled at 46%, it is a bright, sweet toned malt built for easy drinking without losing the distillery's fruit forward stamp.
