Teeling releases a Birthday Batch each year to mark the anniversary of its Newmarket distillery, the operation that returned distilling to Dublin in 2015. The 8th Birthday Batch reaches back to that founding year, a single pot still whiskey distilled in 2015 from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and bottled in 2023 at 8 Years Old, with 640 bottles set aside for Belgium.
The whiskey matured fully in Pineau des Charentes casks, an unusual choice that wraps the style's peppery, gingery spice and oily texture in candied grape, honey and gentle Cognac warmth. Bottled at a cask strength 48.8%, it shows the young Dublin distillery's own pot still character at full volume.
