Description
Teeling brought distilling back to Dublin when its Newmarket stillhouse opened in 2015, the first new distillery in the city for 125 years, but the family also controls deep reserves of much older Irish malt, and this 20 Years Old single cask is drawn from that inherited stock. Cask #9048 was bottled in 2023 as a dedicated event release, one cask, undiluted, under the Dublin label.
Two decades in ex-bourbon oak built a core of vanilla, honey and soft barley sweetness before a finishing spell in a Calvados cask folded in baked apple, cider orchard and a light brandied warmth. Bottled at cask strength, 55.1%, it shows the fruit led Teeling house style at full volume, long, spicy and orchard rich through the finish.
