Description
Bottled in 2023 for the Netherlands, this single cask belongs to They Inspired III, a Whisky Icons series of Teeling bottlings honouring figures who shaped the whiskey world. Cask #17208 held 19 Years Old Irish single malt, stock laid down well before the family's Newmarket distillery opened in Dublin in 2015, and gave just 252 bottles at cask strength.
A long ex-bourbon maturation set the foundations of vanilla, beeswax and ripe orchard fruit before a white wine cask finish brightened the edges with crisp grape, citrus zest and a mineral freshness. At 56% the whiskey is concentrated but poised, honeyed malt at the centre, dry wine and oak spice at the rim, with the length expected of nearly two decades in wood.
