Tatratea is a Slovak tea liqueur range from the Tatra mountains, built on black tea plus mountain herbs across a broad range of strengths. The Hibiscus and Red Tea edition sits in the middle at 37%, made with black tea, oak shavings and selected herbs and spices in the house style, carrying the Tatra heritage of simple herbal infusions reworked into a modern liqueur. Tart hibiscus and red tea colour the familiar black tea base.

The nose is fruity and floral with spicy notes. The palate shows floral notes, hibiscus, oak shavings and spices, the finish long. The mid strength keeps it workable in a mix without dominating. It brings a tart red floral character, gentle oak spice and tannic tea grip to a glass, with the hibiscus adding both colour and a sharp edge that cuts sweetness. It suits a refreshing iced long drink, a place over soda, or a stir into tea, and can be poured neat or over ice. The tart bloom makes it a useful counterpoint in otherwise sweet builds. Serve chilled or over plenty of ice.
