Description
Taketsuru 35 Years Old is Nikka's most extended blended malt age statement, combining malt whisky from Yoichi in Hokkaido and Miyagikyo in Miyagi Prefecture over three and a half decades in wood. This 2001 global release in a 750ml bottle predates much of the international awareness the range later achieved, making it a historically significant edition.
Thirty-five years in Ex-Bourbon oak shape a profile that moves beyond the fresh and honeyed Taketsuru house character into the territory of aged complexity: dark dried fruit, leather, deep malt richness and a waxy concentration are typical of the maturation level. Both Yoichi and Miyagikyo contribute, though after 35 years their individual profiles are fully integrated into the blend.
