Description
Taketsuru 12 Years Old is a 12 year old blended malt from Nikka, drawing on malt from the Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido and the Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi Prefecture. This bottling was released for the Polish market at 40%, matured in the standard Ex-Bourbon cask style of the Taketsuru range.
The Taketsuru blended malts are Nikka's signature malt-only range, built on the complementary characters of the company's two malt distilleries. Yoichi's heavier, coal-fired and coastal profile and Miyagikyo's lighter, fruitier and more delicate side meet over 12 years of Ex-Bourbon maturation to produce a cohesive blended malt with vanilla warmth, orchard fruit and a gentle malt backbone. The range, named for Nikka's founder, represents the purest expression of his approach to marrying contrasting malt styles in a single blend.
