An unaged white Worthy Park bottled by Rum Nation, intense with banana, glue and ester over olive and a peppery, faintly metallic finish, a 57% pot still white that drinks neat for the adventurous and mixes brilliantly for the price.
Description
Rum Nation, the well-regarded Italian bottler, presents this white Worthy Park distilled in 2014 and bottled unaged at 57%. Worthy Park is the clean, precise Jamaican pot still house, moderate in ester, so even at this strength the funk is expressive rather than feral.
Distilled from molasses on a Forsyths pot still with no ageing, it shows glue, banana and ester on the nose with an olive edge, then turns intense and funky on the palate with more banana and glue, finishing peppery, sugary and slightly metallic. Unsweetened and full of raw pot still character, it sits more approachably than a Hampden white while keeping plenty of citrus and overripe tropical fruit. The value is a recurring theme, and at this price it earns a place as both an adventurous neat pour and a serious cocktail base for funky daiquiris and tiki builds.
