An unaged single farm Grenada agricole from Renegade at 50%, intensely vegetal and saline with mineral cane, mango, raspberry and floral oils over a fresh, sugar edged finish, raw terroir in a glass.
Description
Renegade Lake Antoine Lower Crater Lake South is a pure cane juice rum from Renegade on Grenada, a project built around single farm and terroir driven bottlings. Distilled on a pot still from fresh sugarcane juice and bottled unaged at 50%, it is agricole style spirit aimed at showing the character of one specific site of cane.
The profile is raw and uncompromising. Very vegetal, green cane leads the nose alongside pepper and fruit, the palate is salty and mineral with fresh cane and a briny edge, and the finish stays fresh and grassy with a touch of sugar. Mango, raspberry and floral oils lift the savoury core, but this is about terroir rather than easy sweetness. A characterful, mineral driven cane juice white for drinkers who chase green, saline agricole style intensity, at home as a bold neat sipper or in a Ti Punch.
