Red in the glass and spice-forward on the tongue: wild fruit and sloes over peppery juniper, coriander and a cooling flick of menthol. Hans Reisetbauer grows everything organically on his own Upper Austrian fields, macerating the sloes for weeks before a gentle press. A limited summer pressing with a clean, wormwood-tinged close.

Description
Hans Reisetbauer founded his distillery in Axberg, Upper Austria, in 1995, and built it on a simple principle: grow the raw materials yourself, organically, and do everything else by hand, from press to label. This limited Blue Gin Sloeberry edition leans on organically grown sloes, macerated for several weeks then gently pressed to coax out every drop of flavour. Released for the summer months and strictly limited, it carries the same fastidiousness that earned Reisetbauer international Distiller of the Year.
The nose is aromatic and peppery, juniper and coriander lifted by ethereal citrus and a cool menthol edge. The palate turns spicy and full of wild fruit, sloes leading, before a long, light finish with a bitter twist of wormwood. At its best neat over ice, poured into a sloe gin and tonic, or mixed through a summer cocktail.
