Description
The Rammstein Vodka Export Edition is produced in the north of Europe, at the Onder de Boompjes distillery in the Netherlands. Production runs through column stills, which distil continuously and strip out heavier congeners as the vapour rises through the column, giving a clear and very smooth spirit. That method is the reason for its clarity and clean feel. Bottled at 40%, it is made to work both neat and in a glass, with more body and fruit than a strictly neutral vodka usually offers.
The nose is gentle, with grain and citrus over a subtle floral note and a touch of sweetness. The palate is full and smooth with a light sweetness, a fresh edge and a warm, faintly peppery spice, and the finish is long and almost velvety. Its soft fruit and floral side suit a Cosmopolitan, so shake it with cranberry juice, a measure of triple sec and fresh lime, then strain into a chilled coupe with a flamed orange twist to play up that floral lift.
