Purity Connoisseur 51 Reserve Organic Vodka

Purity distils in Sweden using organic winter wheat and malted barley, grown without chemical treatment, and Connoisseur 51 Reserve is its most patient bottling. The number refers to the 51 distillation passes through a purpose-built 600 litre copper pot still, run slowly at low heat. That repeated, gentle distillation steadily removes the harsher congeners while the copper strips sulphur, and the malted barley lends a faint cereal sweetness that wheat alone would not give. It is organic, gluten-free and kosher certified, bottled at a measured 40%. The whole process is deliberately slow and manual, closer to old pot-still practice than modern industrial columns.

The nose is gentle and lightly spicy with soft cereal. The palate is ultra-smooth and supple with a whisper of black pepper, leading into a long, soft finish. With that silky body and clean spice, it is a vodka to serve simply over ice as an aperitif, where it pairs naturally with a Caprese salad: the cool, peppered spirit echoes the fresh basil and buffalo mozzarella and resets the palate between bites.
