Poli Taiadèa Liquore is an aromatic, spicy herbal liqueur from Poli, the historic Veneto distillery, built on the house's hand distilled grappa. Cinchona bark and selected spices are macerated in alcohol and grappa in a careful natural infusion that preserves the essential oils and aromatic components of the plants. Bottled at 28%, it balances bitterness and sweetness, joining the intensity of a traditional Italian herbal liqueur with a grappa base.
The nose is intense and spicy, with herbs, spices, dried fruit and a hint of cinchona bark, while the palate is harmonious and bittersweet, showing dried plum, candied citrus, fine spice and subtle wood, before a long, warm finish with an elegantly bitter edge. For the trade its bittersweet, bark led profile gives a drink an aromatic backbone and a digestif character that cuts sweetness. It shows best on its own, slightly chilled, or as an after dinner pour, and pairs with dark chocolate, dried fruit desserts, nut cake or crème brûlée.
