O’Donnell Moonshine Blutorange Likör

O'Donnell Moonshine Blutorange is a flavoured moonshine style liqueur from the German brand O'Donnell Moonshine, which distils a clear grain spirit and bottles a wide range of flavours in its trademark mason jars, recalling the bootleggers of the American Prohibition era. This is a summer variety built around blood orange, the citrus giving it a fruity character with a slightly tart, gently bitter edge that keeps it from turning cloying. It is bottled at 20%.

The nose is fruity and slightly tart, the palate fresh, fruity and sweetish with a slight bitterness, finishing long on the palate. Behind the bar it brings blood orange flavour, sweetness and a light bitter lift, which makes it a useful citrus base for cocktails and long drinks where a touch of orange bitterness is wanted, lengthened with tonic or sparkling wine.
