Nork Lebkuchen Eierlikor is the gingerbread expression from NORK, the house founded in 2016 by siblings Ann-Katrin and Johann Dallmeyer to reframe Korn, German grain spirit, in a modern style. It takes the brand's egg liqueur and turns it toward winter, layering the warming spices of gingerbread over the creamy egg and grain base to show that egg liqueur belongs by the fire as much as at Easter. It is bottled at a gentle 16%.
The nose is sweet with vanilla, cinnamon, gingerbread, star anise and cardamom, the palate sweet, creamy and fresh with vanilla, cardamom, star anise, clove and cinnamon, finishing long on the palate. Behind the bar it brings a custardy body and a full sweep of warm baking spice, which makes it a seasonal modifier for spiced winter cocktails, a gingerbread White Russian or a hot creamy serve. Enjoy it neat, over ice or stirred into a cocktail creation. As an egg based liqueur, keep it cool once opened and use it reasonably fresh.
