Nobilis Diamond No. 54 Savalle Still „LBI“ (La Bonne Intention) LBI 2013

Nobilis bottled this Diamond as No. 54, an LBI single cask from the 2013 vintage run off the Savalle still. La Bonne Intention is a recreated estate marque, and Savalle is the metal multi column still behind much of Guyana's lighter spirit, here bottled at full overproof strength rather than for easy drinking.

Molasses based and unsweetened, it is dense and demanding. The nose gives chocolate, hazelnut liqueur, nougat, herbs and dark dried fruit, the palate stays herbal and chocolatey with nuts and firm oak, and the finish brings coffee, nuts and roasted barrel. Even after long air it remains forcefully alcoholic, so water and patience pay off. At 68.1 percent it is a powerhouse with a distinctive herbal, chocolate depth and a long finish, fairly priced for its intensity and best met slowly by experienced drinkers.
