A cask strength 11 Year Old Diamond carrying the REV marque, bottled dry at 61.4%, younger and roastier than most, with roasted wood, molasses, leather, dried fruit and dark chocolate.
Description
Nobilis bottled this 2014 Diamond as a single cask under the REV marque, a darker, more characterful side of the Diamond stills than the clean Savalle workhorse profile. At eleven years and 61.4% it is comparatively young for a serious Demerara, which gives it a fresher, roastier edge.
Matured in ex-bourbon and bottled unsweetened, it shows woody, chocolate and caramel notes on the nose, then dried fruit, cocoa, leather and toast on the palate, finishing on oak, nuts and dark chocolate. It needs airtime to settle the proof and open the roasted wood. The result is a satisfying, full-strength Diamond REV that delivers classic dark Guyanese character without the price of older bottlings, a slow, focused sipper for drinkers who like their Demerara young, dark and dry.
