Description
Nobilis bottled this 2014 Diamond at cask strength, blending the DHE and Port Mourant marques for a higher-ester, more characterful profile than the clean Savalle workhorse. At eight years and 54.3% it is young and punchy, an unsweetened release with strong value and real Guyanese character.
Distilled from molasses and matured in ex-bourbon, it shows dried fruit, a medicinal edge, toffee and roasted notes on the nose, then caramel, chocolate, roasted notes and prune on the palate, finishing on raisin, wood, roast and chocolate. Bottled dry, it carries a woody, slightly metallic twist and light smoke alongside the dark fruit. Surprisingly round for its age, it offers Guyana's funkier, more ester-driven side at full strength, a satisfying value sipper for drinkers ready to explore beyond the softer El Dorado profiles.
