Motörhead Vödka Premium Vodka

Motorhead Vodka is part of a spirits range built by the Swedish firm Brands For Fans, which works with musicians and established distilleries, and this bottling honours the band Motorhead. It is made from 100% Swedish wheat grown in the Sormland region of eastern Sweden, distilled and bottled at Gotene Vin and Spritfabrik. Wheat is the gentle grain in vodka, lending a soft, round mouthfeel, and the soft local water keeps the texture supple. What lifts it out of the ordinary is a roasted grain character the distillery has coaxed from the spirit, which gives it more to chew on than the average wheat vodka.

The nose is soft and wheaty. The palate is where it earns its name: rich and rounded with roasted grain, coffee, dark chocolate and caramel running through it, and a long finish. That toasty, coffee-led profile is begging for an Espresso Martini, so shake it hard with a fresh shot of espresso and a little coffee liqueur over ice and strain it cold, letting the vodka's own roasted notes deepen the coffee instead of hiding behind it.
