Miyagikyo Limited Edition 2019 is a no age statement single malt from Nikka's Miyagi Prefecture distillery, released in 2019 for event distribution. Limited edition releases in the Miyagikyo range have periodically offered higher-strength or specially selected expressions outside the core age-stated lineup, and this bottling, at 48%, sits a step above the standard 45% expressions.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks in the house tradition, the typical Miyagikyo profile of orchard and fresh fruit, gentle malt and light floral sweetness is present, with the marginally higher bottling strength giving a little more texture and presence. The event-market format means availability was restricted, making this a less frequently encountered side of the Miyagikyo range for those who follow Nikka's periodic special releases.
