Description
This Extra Dry comes from the Treviso DOC in the Veneto, from the house that Mionetto has run from Valdobbiadene since 1887. It is made from carefully selected Glera and vinified by the Charmat method, which emphasises the freshness and primary fruit of the grape. After maturing for at least six months in stainless steel tanks, the wine is balanced and bright, with a subtle residual sweetness held in check by a lively acidity that defines the extra dry style.
The colour is a delicate light yellow with a fine, persistent bead. The nose is fruity and floral, with apricot, green apple and citrus lifted by honey and a hint of acacia. The palate balances freshness, gentle sweetness and elegant acidity, with a subtle bitter twist on the close that adds length. Serve it at 5 to 7 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a stylish aperitif and suits antipasti, mussels, shellfish, quiche, risotto and light pasta, an easy choice for both smart occasions and relaxed gatherings.
