Description
Mionetto has been among the leading names of Valdobbiadene since 1887, and this Treviso DOC Brut is the drier expression in its core range. It is made entirely from Glera, with grapes drawn from vineyards whose climate and soils give fresh, aromatic base wines. Fermentation follows the Charmat method in pressurised tanks, which holds the fruit while building a fine, lively bead, and the wine is then matured for at least six months to give a precise structure and gentle minerality.
The colour is bright straw yellow with an intense, fine bead. The nose shows green and Golden Delicious apple, pear and citrus with a light touch of honey and acacia. The palate is dry, clear and lively, with fresh acidity and balanced fruit, closing long on apple and citrus. Serve it well chilled at 5 to 7 degrees in a white wine glass. As the driest of the range it makes an excellent aperitif and suits antipasti, shellfish and mussels, light pasta and risotto, fresh salads and fish, keeping its refreshing edge throughout.
