Description
MO Sergio Rosé sits in Mionetto's contemporary MO line, from the house that has worked in Valdobbiadene since 1887. It is made by the Charmat method and rested for at least six months on the fine lees, longer than a standard tank cycle, which lends the wine a finer bead and a rounder texture. The blend takes Glera with a portion of Pinot Noir for the rosé colour and its red-fruit character, and it is finished in the extra dry style with a gentle fruit sweetness.
The colour is a delicate peach-blossom pink with fine violet reflections and a persistent bead. The nose shows pink grapefruit, raspberry, red currant and wild rose, with a hint of sour cherry. The palate is balanced and refreshing, its fruit, freshness and lively structure carried by a fine mousse and finished with a delicate citrus edge. Serve it at 5 to 7 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a lively aperitif and suits antipasti, risotto and light desserts, an easy rosé for a celebration or a relaxed evening.
