Description
Mionetto is one of the best-known Prosecco houses, and this Treviso Brut comes from Glera grown across the Veneto around Treviso. The wine is made by the Charmat method, with its second fermentation in stainless steel tanks that preserve the grape's fresh, floral character rather than building autolytic weight. It then spends at least six months on the fine lees, which adds a little depth and a rounder texture without losing the primary fruit. The style is dry, sitting in the brut band, and the magnum format suits a table or a reception.
The colour is a bright yellow with an intense, fine bead. The nose offers Golden Delicious apple, ripe pear and blossom honey with a floral, acacia note, and the palate carries green apple, citrus and a light honeyed edge over a fresh, invigorating finish. Serve well chilled at 5 to 7 degrees in a white wine glass. It is a natural aperitif and pairs with antipasti, shellfish, pasta and risotto.
