Mionetto Orange Spritz takes a sparkling wine base made by the Charmat method and finishes it with natural orange, citrus, herb and plant extracts, turning it into a ready-to-drink take on the classic Italian spritz. At 5.9 per cent alcohol it is light, and with around 80 g/l residual sugar it sits firmly on the sweet side, balanced by citrus acidity and a bitter-orange edge that stops it cloying. This 200 ml bottle is a single serve, made to be tipped straight over ice without building a cocktail, and pitched at aperitif moments, picnics and warm-weather gatherings.
The colour is a bright orange with a fine bead. The nose shows fresh floral and fruity sparkling character alongside sweet orange and citrus, and the palate is balanced, with bitter orange, fresh citrus and a herbal edge over a refreshing, gently sweet finish. Serve ice cold in a large aperitif glass over cubes with a slice of orange. It is built as an aperitif and suits antipasti, finger food, cold cuts, savoury cheese and grilled vegetables.
