Minttu Original Peppermint

Minttu Original is a peppermint liqueur from Finland, made to the clean Scandinavian style that gives it a crystal clear appearance and an unmistakably cool character. Produced under tightly controlled conditions to keep the purity and clarity of the liquid, it leans on a high proportion of natural peppermint for its ice cold freshness and is bottled at 32%, a clear, intense mint with no sugar crystals to cloud it.

The nose is intense menthol and peppermint, the palate powerfully fresh with a dominant peppermint note, finishing long, cooling and invigorating. Behind the bar it works as a clean, strong mint note, adding cooling menthol freshness to a glass without heavy sugar, which makes it a useful mint base for cocktails and a quick way to bring a cool edge to a stirred or shaken drink. It is classically served chilled as a shot straight from the freezer, the Finnish way, and stirred into hot chocolate for a winter drink with a fresh kick. Serve it very cold.
