Description
The 2022 Vintage Release is part of the annual series Irish Distillers has issued since 1984, signed by hand by the master distiller at Midleton. It blends older single pot still and grain whiskeys, triple distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork, and was released globally in a run of 33,077 bottles.
Maturation is in lightly charred bourbon American oak barrels, framing vanilla and citrus alongside dried fruit and a soft nutty note. At 40% the whiskey is polished and gentle, the aged grain rounding the pot still spice into the orchard fruit and silky texture of the Midleton house, unpeated throughout with a warm, honeyed close.
