The 2020 Vintage Release of Midleton Very Rare, Irish Distillers' annual prestige blend, produced and signed at the Midleton distillery in East Cork since 1984. It marries mature triple distilled pot still and grain whiskey, unpeated, the pot still adding weight and spice while the grain keeps it soft and honeyed.
Maturation in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak lends toasted vanilla, orchard fruit and a gentle baking spice, finishing smooth at 40%. It sits comfortably in the Cork house style, fruit and silky texture rather than dried fruit and sherry, an elegant modern edition.
