Description
Midleton Very Rare, released annually since 1984, is the prestige blend of Irish Distillers, each edition signed by hand by the master distiller. This 2013 bottling was filled at 750ml for the Polish market and gathers older single pot still and grain whiskeys from the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork.
Maturation is in ex-bourbon casks, giving vanilla, gentle baking spice and a rounded honeyed sweetness at 40%. Triple distilled and unpeated, the whiskey carries the orchard fruit and silky texture of the Midleton house, the aged grain smoothing the pot still spice into a soft, polished finish suited to the blend's understated style.
