Description
Midleton Very Rare has been released once a year since 1984, each edition signed by hand by the master distiller at Midleton. This 2002 bottling brings together older single pot still and grain whiskeys distilled in Co. Cork and was prepared for Europe by Irish Distillers.
The blend matured in ex-bourbon American oak, the backbone of the range, lending vanilla, light spice and a rounded honeyed sweetness at 40%. Triple distilled and unpeated, it carries the orchard fruit and silky texture of the Midleton house, the aged grain smoothing the pot still prickle into a clean, gentle finish.
