Description
Midleton Very Rare, first released in 1984, is the once a year prestige blend of Irish Distillers, each edition signed by hand by the master distiller. This 2001 bottling gathers older single pot still and grain whiskeys distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork and was prepared for the European market.
The blend matured in ex-bourbon American oak, the constant of the range, lending vanilla, gentle spice and a honeyed sweetness at 40%. Triple distilled and unpeated, it carries the orchard fruit, malt and silky texture of the Midleton style, the aged grain polishing the pot still prickle into a soft, understated finish.
