Description
A mid 1990s edition of Midleton Very Rare, Irish Distillers' annual blend signed by the master distiller and released each year since 1984 from the Midleton distillery in East Cork. It combines aged triple distilled pot still and grain whiskey, unpeated, with the pot still lending spice and creamy weight beneath the softer grain.
Ex-bourbon barrels shape the whiskey into a mellow, honeyed style, stewed apple and pear with vanilla and a light baking spice, finishing smooth at 40%. This is the polished Cork house character, orchard fruit and silky texture, an older bottling now increasingly hard to find.
