Midleton Very Rare 1994

Midleton Very Rare, first released in 1984, is Irish Distillers' once a year prestige blend, each edition signed by hand by the master distiller. This 1994 bottling gathers older single pot still and grain whiskeys distilled at the Midleton distillery in Co. Cork and was prepared for Europe.

The blend matured in ex-bourbon American oak, the constant across the range, giving vanilla, light spice and a rounded honeyed sweetness at 40%. Triple distilled and unpeated, it shows the orchard fruit, malt and silky texture of the Midleton house, the grain component lending a soft, polished finish that suits the whiskey's understated style.
