Description
An early 1990s edition of Midleton Very Rare, Irish Distillers' annual blend, hand signed by the master distiller and released each year since 1984 from Midleton in East Cork. It is a marriage of mature triple distilled pot still and grain whiskey rather than a single malt, unpeated, balancing pot still spice with soft grain.
Ageing in ex-bourbon American oak brings vanilla, light toffee and orchard fruit, with a gentle baking spice on the finish, smooth at 40%. It reflects the polished Cork house style, orchard fruit and silky texture, an older bottling of a now well established series.
