Description
A single cask single pot still whiskey distilled at Midleton in East Cork in 1992, the distillery of Irish Distillers. Bottled from one refill bourbon cask, number 31461, at cask strength and without an age statement, it was released as an event bottling of just 120 bottles.
Long maturation in refill American oak keeps the wood gentle, letting the triple distilled pot still spirit lead with green apple and pear, barley sugar and a peppery, oily spice. At an undiluted 56% the texture is rich and full, unpeated in the Midleton house style, with the mellow depth that comes from decades in cask.
