Description
One of the early editions of Midleton Very Rare, the annual prestige blend Irish Distillers has released and signed since 1984 at its Midleton distillery in East Cork. The 1990 bottling brings together mature triple distilled pot still and grain whiskey, unpeated in the Irish style, balancing pot still spice against soft grain.
Matured in ex-bourbon American oak, it carries the polished, honeyed character of the range, vanilla and toffee wrapped around apple and pear with a quiet baking spice, smooth at 40%. An older Cork bottling, it reflects the gentle, fruit led house style rather than a sherried one.
