The 2023 release of Barry Crockett Legacy, Midleton's single pot still tribute to its former master distiller, limited to 2,500 bottles. Distilled by Irish Distillers in Co. Cork from malted and unmalted barley and matured solely in American bourbon casks, a blend of seasoned and unseasoned oak, it was bottled at 46%.
The whiskey leans a touch richer this year, with chocolate and dried fruit alongside the cooked and fresh orchard fruit and honey. A note of newer oak adds structure, while the pot still mash bill keeps the peppery, oily spice at the core. Triple distilled and unpeated, it finishes smooth and honeyed, the refined ex bourbon face of Midleton pot still.
