Description
This single pot still whiskey is part of Method and Madness, the experimental line at Midleton in East Cork owned by Irish Distillers. Distilled from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled, it carries no age statement and was bottled for the Irish market at 46%.
The finishing wood is virgin Garryana oak, an uncommon species native to the Pacific Northwest that tends to give bold spice, tannin and a sweet, resinous note. Over it sits the creamy Midleton pot still spirit, peppery and oily with green apple, barley sugar and vanilla in the house style. Unpeated, triple distilled, typical of the Cork distillery.
