A single pot still whiskey from Method and Madness, the experimental line at Midleton in East Cork run by Irish Distillers. Distilled from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled, it carries no age statement and was released in 2024 as a travel retail bottling at 46%.
After ex-bourbon maturation the spirit is finished in Amburana wood, a South American timber that gives pronounced cinnamon, clove and a sweet, almost tonka bean spice. It sits over the creamy Midleton pot still base, all green apple, barley sugar and oily pepper in the house style. Unpeated, triple distilled, distinctly spiced by the unusual cask.
