A single pot still whiskey from Method and Madness, the experimental line at Midleton in East Cork run by Irish Distillers. Distilled from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in the Cork manner, it is a no age statement release bottled in 2018 for the European market at 46%.
After ex-bourbon maturation the spirit is finished in virgin Hungarian oak, a tight grained central European oak that brings spice, dried fruit and a fragrant sweetness. The pot still base offers citrus, orchard fruit, honey and vanilla, with the peppery, oily texture that is the hallmark of Midleton. Unpeated and silky.
