Ripe raspberry and sharp blackcurrant lead, the berries’ sweetness and acidity held in check by a firm juniper spine. Distilled in small batches at the Trossachs Distillery in Callander before the fruit goes in, it carries a faint violet blush. Summery, fresh and quietly Scottish.

Description
McQueen Gin works in small batches from the Trossachs Distillery in Callander, and this expression follows the distilled-gin route: juniper and botanicals through the still first, then natural blackcurrant and raspberry folded in afterwards. The pairing is deliberate, the dark acidity and depth of blackcurrant set against the sweeter freshness of raspberry, with a light spice and a thread of citrus keeping everything in line. The liquid carries a pale violet tint that hints at what's coming.
The nose is fruity and lively with ripe raspberry, blackcurrant and fine juniper. The palate is soft and round, fruity sweetness and gentle acidity playing off juniper spice, before a long, fresh, lightly sweet finish. Pour over ice with a fruity tonic, or stir it into a Bramble with a scatter of fresh berries.
