Description

Mars Shinshu distillery, owned by Hombo Shuzo and set in the Central Alps of Nagano at Miyada, produced this single cask single malt in 2016. After six years in a first-fill bourbon cask, it was selected and bottled at cask strength by La Maison du Whisky as a France-market release.

Six years in first-fill American oak allows the wood to give generously, building out vanilla and gentle coconut alongside the distillery's typical clean, fruit-forward new make. The cask strength bottling at 61% preserves the full texture of the spirit and the honest contribution of a single barrel, with no blending to soften the Nagano mountain influence.
