The Whisky Agency, a German independent celebrated for its illustrated labels, bottles this rare 37 Year Old, a 1973 vintage matured in Fino sherry, an outturn of 252 bottles.
Thirty-seven years in Fino, the driest sherry, built a savoury, nutty maturity quite unlike the usual Oloroso, the cask lending dry dried-fruit and a saline edge.
At 58% it shows a coal-gas mineral note, honey, a leafy lift, old wood, a faint smoke and a toasted depth, undiluted. A 1973 Fino rarity.
