Wemyss Malts, the family bottler known for evocative cask names, calls this 24 Year Old Persian Anise, a 1992 vintage Longmorn in ex-Bourbon, an outturn of 336 bottles.
Twenty-four years in ex-Bourbon matured the rich spirit, the low-tannin oak lending vanilla and a light toffee and a nutty depth.
At 46% it shows chocolate, a cooked-mash note, honey, nuts, an oily texture and vanilla over Longmorn's mature fruit. A Persian Anise 24.
