Description
Laurent-Perrier build La Cuvée around a high proportion of Chardonnay, which sets the fresh, light and elegant house signature, filled out with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The house favours gentle pressing and a long, slow maturation, ageing the wine on the lees well beyond the minimum, which gives finesse and a fine, delicate bead. Made by the traditional method with a second fermentation in bottle, it carries a low Brut dosage that keeps the finish dry and precise.
The wine is a pale, bright gold with a fine, persistent perlage. Lemon, green apple and white peach lead the nose, with white flowers and a light fresh dough and toasty tone. The palate is fresh and delicate, with citrus and orchard fruit over a subtle bready base, closing clean and dry. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. A precise aperitif that also suits shellfish, white fish and lighter hard cheeses.
