Description
Laurent-Perrier is a major Champagne house known for a light, Chardonnay led style. La Cuvee is its flagship non vintage brut, blending Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from a wide spread of crus, with a deliberately high Chardonnay share and a portion of reserve wines for consistency. The wine is made by the traditional method and aged for around four years in the cellars, well beyond the minimum, so lees autolysis builds real complexity and a fine, persistent bead. A low brut dosage keeps it fresh and precise.
The wine is pale gold with a very fine, persistent perlage. The nose is delicate and expressive, with fresh citrus and white flowers giving way to vineyard peach and white orchard fruit. The palate is dry and elegant, with a creamy mousse, a gentle biscuit note and a long, harmonious finish. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It is a fine aperitif and pairs well with oysters, prawns, scallops and delicate fish, as well as white meats such as veal and poultry.
